Classroom

Each color table has an artist. We haven't done much with these artists yet...but we will like we do every year :)

Usually we do a project based on an artist...either style or use of elements of art in their artwork.

End of the Year School Competition

Here's what getting artwork photographed and ready for a school competition looks like. This was May 2014. I put each grade level on index cards cut in half labeled "grade- painting number". Conway had an Art in Architecture competition every year in Spring. I decided to do it every grade level and see how they grow each year drawing the historic homes of Conway. Every child in the school does this project. The Conway schools receive guidelines and pictures of historic homes.

3D Weaving from end of last year (Spring 2014)

This was a group project Kindergarten did in each class in small groups then gradually as a class.

Artsonia

I put as much student artwork as I can on artsonia for showing growth and keeping a record of their work. parents and faculty also enjoy seeing student artwork on this site. it's also a great resource for lesson plans. There are also competitions.

School Competition

This week will begin the school's second year school art competition. After completing drawings and paintings of historical homes in Conway for the Conway competition, students can compete at the school wide level. Since everyone in the school competes (K-4), there are a lot of houses! This week will be grades K-1. Next week will be grades 2-4.
